A few words...

From the first piano lesson, it never occurred to me to play only what was written. Tunes and words danced in my head. My child’s guitar was a gift of sorts, rescued from Martha's music store window. The sun’s rays had burned a small hole in its side, but I didn't care. I formed a "girl group." We wore matching dresses made by our mothers and sang at school and for the church Mother/Daughter banquet, hip songs like The Beatles' "Your Mother Can Tell."

My early fascination with theatre expanded in high school and college. I grew from roles in musicals and plays to writing, composing and directing for student productions, including a traveling college production I called, “Love is in the Wings: A Rodgers and Hart Musical Revue.”  As choreographer for “Cabaret,” “Anything Goes,” “The Pirates of Penzance,” and “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown” at the college level, I gained experience and had such FUN!

After graduating from Muhlenberg College with a degree in English, I dove into motherhood, but tried to keep the learning fires burning. I consider myself fortunate to have studied voice with Shoshana Feinstein, classical guitar with Robert Torres and violin with Luis Antonio Ibanez.

Today, I travel the winding road, just like you. I love to write and perform songs that reflect my experiences. Mother of four, grandmother of three, curious human.
